The first edition of the International Marathon of Biarritz – Pays Basque will take place on the 5th of may 2024. The Biarritz Olympique Athlétisme, the organizing club, finally endows the Côte Basque-Adour agglomeration with the great international running event it deserves.
For the destination
Biarritz and the Pays Basque ticks all the boxes to become a major marathon event : a chic and sporting international image, an exceptional architectural and natural heritage, worldwide tourist sucess, privileged accessibility and reception capacity.
For the decor
Starting from and arriving at the famous Aguilèra Stadium, the Biarritz-Basque International Marathon offers a postcard route that shines through the municipalities of Biarritz, Bassussary, Arcangues, Arbonne and Bidart. You will be able to discover among others :
Iconic districts and monuments : the Church of Sainte-Eugénie, the old fishing port, the Biarritz lighthouse and its 73 meters above sea level, the typical Biarritz villas, the casino and hotels like the emblematic Hôtel du Palais, City of the Ocean …
Famous spots : A final on the ocean front, with in particular the Rock of the Virgin Mary, the Biarritz lighthouse and the popular spots which welcomes sufers around the world (the Grande Plage, the Côte des Basques, the miramar, the Marbella) …

A large crowd, many activities on the course and at the finish line, thematic refreshments…The only marathon where you will never be in a hurry to arrive.
